New to forum - visa question

We are new to the forum. Registered today. We are looking into emigrating to Australia and have sought advice from a migration consultant. They have suggested we consider the skilled regional sponsor option for South Australia. Is there anybody out there who has gone down this route. If so, can you please offer any advice. Cheers Trevali

Hi Trevali

Welcome to Poms in Oz.

Why is the agent suggesting SA and this regional sponsored visa?

If ou could tell us a bit more about yourselves, your skills and your age, between us we can probably help further.

In the meantime, please have a good look at the following links:

Best wishes

Regional visa

Hi Gill,

I am 45 in September so am aware that I need to get my skates on to lodge the final visa application before my birthday. I am applying under the Graphic Pre Press Occupation and have more than 25 years experience in the field. We have a young(ish) family and would dearly love to make the move now. There was no real explanation as to why my Skilled independent online visa application was unsuccessful, but the regional sponsored visa route was offered and I am progressing with it. Do you foresee any pitfalls with this?

cheers
Trevali

Hi Trevali

I know very little about skilled visas in general and I have never understood how State-sponsored visas work. Somebody else will be able to help you regarding complications (or not) with the actual visa application.

Here is your occupation:

Graphic Pre-Press Tradesperson 4911-11 - Australian Skills Recognition Information

As it attracts 60 points, I would imagine that it might be that you cannot score a high enough total for one of the other visas, possibly.

Best wishes

Gill
