hi Martin,

as Sheena said its free but you have to pay for books and uniform (i think). I'm sure someone on here who is there already will be able to give you an idea of those cost.

Hi
Here in NSW they are called High Schools, and maybe sometimes just Public Schools.

Hiya my son is at primary and you have to buy their books (approx$120),this does go up a little as they get older and need different books. In the first few weeks of term you are asked for a contribution fee of $30,during the term you get the odd bill home for school trips, art materials etc.Uniform prices vary school to school shirts approx$20,shorts approx$25,trainers you buy anywere(or shoes if your kids will wear them when they see everyone in tariners, lol)
When they start high school you still buy the books but the contribution is dependant on what lessons they take,if they do home ec you have to pay towards food etc,,hope this helps a bit
