Oz or Uk?

Hi all

Me and my husband have the chance to move to Oz on a working visa but we have been asked to think where we would like to live. We are a family of four two adults, a two year old and a new born, of course we would ideally like somewhere close to the cost but don't really want a hot stick climate.
We currently live in Stoke on Trent (not the nicest part of the UK!) and are sick of turning on the news and hearing of another teenage knife crime or "yob culture". We know there is going to be crime over there as well but is it anywhere as near as bad as here?
We both have good jobs and are close to our familys but want a better life for our kids.
Please can someone advise us if the Oz lifestyle is better?

Smile Stokies going to Newcastle NSW

Gday Spring,
My Hubbie and I live in Stoke too we have just put our big application in and Im scared but excited too!
Hubbie is an engineer (Fitter) and visa is subclass 175. I work as a business support officer for local council.
We went to OZ for a holiday two years ago and luvvvved it, visited Sydney, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast, had a fab time and were looking forward to having a better lifestyle, more time outdoors enjoying the sunshine and plenty of Barbies! We hopefully want to start a family in the next few years and want to have the best future possible!!
Were planning on going to Newcastle NSW which is about 2 hours away from Sydney and there seems to be quite a few jobs for Hubbie, plus it is arty and cultural with museums, galleries, bars, restaurants, and plenty of beaches and ocean baths that are safe to swim in. I would love to get a job related to the arts as I have an art degree.
Maybe check the website out www.visitnewcastle.com.au .
Will be good to stay in touch! Good Luck with everything!!x
Oh forgot to say one thing I will miss from Stoke is the Oatcakes!!
