confused

I am sure this queation has been raised by many others over time but......I keep seeing on other peoples posts a TRA. Please put me out of my ignorance n let me know what a TRA is. Sorry but I have just started looking at the process of emigrating to Oz when I found PIO, so please forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject.
Many thanks
Liz. (confused)

HI And Welcome to PIO

Trade Recognition of Australia, is what it stands for and it for people that are migrating to Australia on a Skilled Visa, they need to pass the TRA first

Many thanks Kdal for that information.
My partner is a builder by trade and I am a nurse so I guess that's the route we will be taking.
Forgot to say in my first posting.....Hello to all, glad to be here and this site is so good, I think it could just be better than chocolate!!

2nd question

My partner is 45.....46 in a few days, and I am 44. Will we still be considered as suitable applicants to migrate?

Hi Liz

Cut to the chase, here.

Do you work full time as a registered nurse and have you been doing so - full time - lately? Also, when is your 45th birthday?

Your own skills will get you and OH into Oz as long as your recent work experience meets the requirements.

Cheers

Gill

Hi Gill

I work 30 hours a week as a health visitor and my OH works in the building trade full-time. I won't be 45 until Dec.
Many thanks

Hi Liz

OK. You have time to get a skills assessment organised and in the beg, followed by gettig the visa application completed and in DIAC's office before your 45th birthday, but you do not have time to hang about, lassie, because getting all the paperwork together invariably takes longer than people think it will.

Read Booklet 6. Focus on the skilled idependent subclass 175 visa for the moment and focus on doing the whole thing via your skills and yourjob because you are still under 45.
Swot up on the criteria for the different bits of the points test and work out whether or not you have enough points for an s/c 175 visa. The links are below.

Please let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

Gill
