I'm just starting out on the "move to Oz" trail. This seems to be a great forum, bt i've posted a thread in the jobs forum. Had 30 odd views but no reply. Am I doing something wrong

Hi. Im fairly new here too and no you're not doing anything wrong. I think oz is such a huge place with so many places to choose from so unless your message relates closely to someone elses, re places, jobs etc then people don't really know what to say. Where in oz are you looking to go? After much net surfing and speaking to people we've now decided on adelaide. Its such a hard decision tho with so many lovely places. We have no friends out there either to give us advice, only 1 single man in sydney but he's out there for the high life, much different to us, we want a quiet, slow paces, life with our young kids. But I think adelaide looks lovely.

Just had a quick read and I'm afraid I'm at a loss. I'm sure someone here must know more about the truck driving industry. I'm in IT/Computers. To get assessed in this field you generally need to have a qualifcation and approx mor ethan 4 years experience in the field. If you don't have any quals then there's another path you can take which involves writing out your job description as if you were talking to a 4 year old.

I think IT would be the way to go if you want to go skilled.

hey Thanx.

I'm looking to go anywhere really. Me & my wife are so fed up with this country.
We've been looking at perth or Adelaide.
As for the IT, I've got loads of experiance but no peice of paper that says i'm bloody good ( which I am ). That's why I thought about driving, I can drive a lorry. Have done for about 11 years.

sorry cant help oh is a bricklayer where heading to perth once visa comes

plus sell the house cant get us there quick enough as sooooo fed up with this country
