Hi - I'm new and confused!

Hi, my husband and I are very new to this, we have only just sent off for some initial free assessments and seem to be in constant turmoil! We have just returned from 4 weeks in Oz, mostly staying with my sister in Melbourne. She is a citizen but this was our first trip. The last thing we expected was to come back wanting to move to Australia but that is what's happened and we need to be sure we don't just have post-holiday blues (they have lasted over a month now...). My husband is an electrician (fully certified etc) but is 43 this year so we really need to make a decision soon. Help!

I guess you are not allowed to recommend migration agents? We would also love to hear from anyone who knows anything about the prospects for electricians in the Bayside/Mornington areas of Melbourne. We have seen enough to feel that Mornington is a good prospect but will be going back in October to look at the area with 'new' eyes.

I feel so unsettled by this (my nice boring 'safe' little life - all topsy-turvey!) I would be grateful for any words of wisdom, encouragement, warning that you can give!

I just wanted to say a warm welcome to you and your husband.

I have never been to Oz before and I am moving Lock, Stock and barrel on 2nd September to Brisbane.
My visa was granted 2 weeks ago, the shipping is booked etc etc.

My advice is GO WITH YOUR HEART, and YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!

Thanks April - and the very best of luck! You are very brave to move without going there first but I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I don't really know Brisbane, we just passed through, but it looked as wonderful as you'd expect and I a friend of mine lives there and adores it.
