I am a hairdresser and we are going out on a skilled visa, hopefully. My OH use to be an aircraft engineer but is now a plasterer and tiler. He doesnt know what to do when we get out there, he was wondering if any one knew of any where in perth where he can do aircraft work. He has over 12 years experience on all kinds of aircraft.
Also does any one know if I have to work full time when we get to oz, I would rather like to work part time like I do now as I have a 6 month old baby and a 8 year old daughter. Does the visa 175 state that I have to work full time for 2 years?
Does anyone know how much childcare is?
We are going it alone and would appreciate any help anyone can give us.

The Rossendale valley................. what a nice quiet peaceful spot. Used to visit it often from Preston.
Here in Perth we have Pearce Air Base............... loads of aircraft fitters and suchlike work there. It's at a place called Bullsbrook which used to be a fair hike to get to as it was deemed to be out in the bush. Roads have however been recently upgraded and now it's a mere short drive from Perth's northern suburbs where most of Pearce Air Base staff live.
He doesn't have to stick to his trade.................. I'm a plumber by trade but I now own my own real estate agency. Plenty of work for plasterers and tilers if hubby doesn't want to carry on in the aircraft industry................. come on over............... you can't go wrong.

my name is Lyn, my partner and I are just on the road to sourcing info and wanting to move to oz, Perth was my first choice but am open to suggestions, my OH is an electrician with his own company here, I have a 7 month old son also a 13 year old son and may also bring Russ's kids who are girls 10 and 5. so wherever you are in the process tips would be appreciated, plus we havnt been to australia before, my mum used to live their and just like it on the telly!!!

Bobcat- thank you, your info is excellent, you made my OH grin like a chesjire cat. I use to own a dry cleaners in bamber bridge, near preston. Nice place.
I am so glad i dont have to work full time, i have done enough hours over the year and want to enjoy life with me OH and KIDS.
Lyn, Russ and kids it would be great to keep each other informed, what stage are you at? We are just about to send off our skills assesssment at the end of this week. Where in perth do you fancy? we cant make our minds up tooo many nice places.
We are so excited now and cant wait to get out there.
