Hiya Moving to Perth....Hopefully

Hi Everyone just thought I'd say hi to u all! :)

New to this site and luvvin it!!!

Just wondering if anyone can help? I am a trainee accountant and my partner has just started his own business as a plasterer - we have a 3 year old daughter. Hoping to move to Perth and would like any advice offered.

My main queries are.....Can I pass the skills test with just a degree in accounts (i havent sat my professionals to become chartered yet)?

Is there any affordable rentals in Perth (possibly Secret Harbour or Pt Kennedy) - we are on a bit of a budget as we are still young and our house is isnt the most expensive?

And this may sound very selfish but how do peeps get the odd night out if they have no family to babysit?

Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

to pio

we to are heading there but still not got visa's yet the wait is doing my head in its soooooooo stressful. we have never been out there just doing it all when we get there but did lots of recerch of them both and fell in love (port kennedy/secret harbour)just hope i feel the same when we get there, sexy welsh bird has been brill giving me info on the place which has helped so send her a pm im sure she would not mind. as for going out mine are a lot older 13,11,8, so if you end up in same place as us we could start a babysitting circle up to help us all out as bet there are loads of mums out there with no one am i TA so used to lots of children.

like i say just waiting on visa's and the sale of the house as all our money is tied up into it so once we have payed of visa's wont have vast amount but enough to tied us over, oh is a bricklayer and very good at his job so should hopefully find work easy.

we will stay in a hotel for a couple of weeks then look around for cheaper short stay untill we find somewhere we want to settle, just sorting out shipping prices and that is doing my head in as not taking lots with us but mainly collectables that i treasure dearly as they all want you buisness so sound really nice but who do you trust.

sorry to waffle on

if you want send me a pm if i can help any

good luck with everything everyone is so friendly and helpfull you will become addicted

Hi Letasha

Welome to PIO.

Can't help with any of your questions sorry. But just wanted to say Hi...... Greenock eh been there many a time or should I say passed through it to get the boat over to Rothesay.

Oh your mentioned hubby is a plasterer does he have qualifications. Strange question I know but you might be able to go down the sponsor route.

Good Luck

Janette

Hi, I have only been using this site for a few days and I am definitely hooked! We only decided two weeks ago that this is what we want to do. Spoke to an agent yesterday, got details of their fees £4000 for everything - including their fees, visa and medicals - I was a little shocked but not put off. Speaking to another agent tonight Go Matilda so see what they say.
I fancied Perth too, and was also wondering how we would manage a night out with three young children and no family and friends!! I think a babysitting group is a fab idea - wouldnt be surprised if there was something like that in place already!

Hi
Dont have any children ( well of babysitting age anyway) going with us - hopefully Perth later this year - but we have friends who live in the Rockingham area with 2 youngsters. They emigrated 2 yrs ago & have been really lucky in finding a lady who babysits for them and is also like a surrogate grandparent! People over there are really friendly so I dont think you will have too many problems. They have lots of house 'parties' so no problem to the kids along if you cant make arrangements.
Good Luck!!

Hi Letasha, Welcome to PIO.

Just wanted to wish you luck in your plans, my OH is also plasterer and we just started TRA application process, so a long way off. However, would like to put my name down for this babysitting circle in Perth area (lol!!) ; sounds a great idea to me!

We will also be looking to rent in same area as you, so keep in touch and let us know how things are going - who knows, we could be meeting up for a barbie+a few tinnies in 12 months time (kids invited, of course!!!)

Best wishes,
Jill, Mick, Daniel (11), Adam (5), Natasha (18mths)

hi guy's

when i get over there then i think i may just start up a business in babysitting then at least

we can all meet up and take turns all get together with kids have a bar-bie sounds fun
the kids can have fun so should the adults

friends of mine use to do the baby circle and instead of payment was given a voucher to

exchange for them to have a free night out that way its fair. then once a month everyone

got together with the kids and went out for the day.

that is why i came up with the idea as we will not no anyone over there and i know there

will be lots in the same position.

julie

Our friends are in Secert Harbour, and how lovely it is, but i have my eyes set on the Lakelands which isn't far from our friends and the Port Kennedy area...

GOOOD LUCK...
