Hi everyone, i'm new on the forum today as my other half and i ave only just decided it might actually be worth giving a go to realising our dream of living in Oz. It's something we've both had in our heads for a very long time, before we even met each other (though i suspect his main motive may be the cricket!!!). We're mid twenties with two young kids ( 3 and 1) and he's in construction so in theory the visa and formality side of it wouldn't be a problem... i just wanted to chat to someone who'd done it. We have a mortgage on a property here for approx £240 grand and from what i've managed to find so far it looks like we could have a hell of a lot more space than a small three bed terrace if we did make the move..... am i right???? What are the basic financial costs of "making the move" ? flights, removals etc. Whats the healthcare like in reality?? and whats about the emotional costs???? does anyone know any websites that could give us more official info on forms etc preferably in plain english rather than legal bumpf....??
I feel a bit like an excited kid with a crush again.. except this time the crush isn't a person, it's a life on the other side of the globe.
