Wink Just a quickie

Hi there,
Can someone give a quick bit of advise, my niece is hoping to be able to move out to Oz, at present she works as a Restaurant Manager and has done for 9+ years, her works title is General Manager, what would be the best visa for her to apply for, if she came out on a 2 year working visa ( she is 25 ) and got a job she liked, could she change the visa as a working one would only let her do a job for 6 months, or should she be able to get a skilled one, i cant find her job description on the list
Thanks
Sara xx

Hi Sra

The Working Holiday Visa does not automatically permit 2 years in Australia. It is only possible to get a second year if the holder does something like harvesting for at least 3 months in teh first year.

Please see here:

Visa Options - Working Holiday Makers - Visas & Immigration

I think your niece should have a chat with a Registered Migration Agent because if she might be eligible for skilled independent migration, she wouldn't necessarily want time spent harvesting (any agriculutural type activity will do, I think) stuffing her up on her work-experience pattern.

Cheers

Gill
