How do we get started?

hi everyone,this is my first thread on here and from just reading other threads,i now know quite a bit more and it's not stopping me from wanting to move to oz.i have family in brisbane so i want to go there but a friend is going to perth and him indoors wants to go there.has anybody got any advice to help us make up our minds(or to get him to change his)what is the next move after deciding where to go?many thanks,wendy x

Do you know your visa strategy, Wendy? It isn't clear from your posting.

The Skilled Independent visa (subclass 175) is often the first place to start:
Skilled – Independent (Migrant) visa (subclass 175)
Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia - Skilled Migration

Look at the Skilled Sponsored visa (subclass 176) too if you have an eligible family member available to sponsor you, or if you have an occupation that is identified as being wanted in a State or Territory of Australia:
Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) visa (subclass 176)
Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia - Skilled Migration

thanks for the prompt reply alan.we know we have the points so it's just paying our first fee.i'm trying to arrange flights first and then we'll know for sure wether to carry it on
