Regional or not.......
Hello,
Could someone point me in the right direction, I am looking for a website/link that will list or show a map of the area's that are classified as Regional in WA.
We are going out on a 457 visa but for that reason we must live and work regionally, I have been told that Mindarie, Quinns,Burns are all regional but am having trouble finding a site to check
Thanks
Sara
The postcode fir Burns is 6028. It is one of the Northern suburbs of Perth, very close to the coast and close to Kinross, Joondalup, Carramar, Tapping etc.
The postcode for Mindarie is 6030. Again, it is very close to the coast and is about 8km due north of Burns, more or less.
Quinns Rocks is also 6030 and is less than half a mile from Mindarie, just a tad North Est of Mindarie.
So close to the coast, I would expect housing to be expensive in any of these suburbs but Bobcat lives round there and is a real estate agent in that area, so I'd suggest a PM to Bobcat. If you go into Google Australia and then use Google Maps, you can locate the 3 suburbs easily.
If you want to know the postcode for Mindarie, say, tell Google Australia to find Mindarie, WA and tell it to confine the search to Australian web-pages. Loads of entries will appear, several with the postcode for Mindarie or whichever suburb you are looking for.
Check the postcodes against this list I sent you on your other thread last night.

Hi Karen,
Thanks for that, i have found the postcodes on a website, i think it was the Australian Embassy site, i'm not sure how to find out where these postcode are, when i put them into google map, it just came back with an address, i was hoping that there might be a map showing or listing the regional suburbs.
Thanks again
Sara x
I have pm'd you regarding this. I have never heard of needing to work regional on a 457. The company thats sponsoring you will tell you where you're working. We also chose where we stayed. Its not a restriction for us
Some occupations that are "less skilled" can only be the subject of employer sponsorship and the grant of a subclass 457 visa if the employment is in "regional Australia" - known as the 457 regional concessions.
Best regards.

Hi Alan
I believe that Sarajayne is trying to find out about whether her hubby has a chance of obtaining a sponsored visa for his existing job as a HGV1 driver.
Phil Olsen - an RMA based in Perth as you may recall - started a thread ages ago (sometime in 2006) saying that he had been in touch with the biggest firm of hauliers in WA and that they were willing to consider sponsoring foreign drivers on RSMS visas.
From that I assume that some or all of the jobs for truckers probably involve employers in "regional Australia." However, I am just guessing and could be totally wide of the mark.
