Hi people, going to Melbourne in march for a holiday/recce mission, TRA passed in10th Sept, missed deadline and have to do IELTS test, so will help in any we can, good luck.
We are also heading for Melbourne. Looking at Berwick as a starting point. We are off for a validating holiday in 3 weeks and are really looking forward to it. The only thing holding us up now is the house sale which is turning into a bit of a saga!! Sick of time wasters and pointless viewings from people who haven't even got their houses on the market yet. Although having said that, we have a second viewing on sunday from a cash buyer who wants a quick completion so it might all come together soon. Getting very nervous now!!! What areas are you considering??

Yep, we (husband and 2 kids - 7 and 5) are planning on settling in Victoria and will be heading to Geelong which is about 75km from Melbourne (I think). We are living in NZ just now, originally from Glasgow and will be heading to OZ soon as our house is sold here!! We plan to arrive in Geelong and have a good look around the areas and decide where we want to settle. From what I've seen on the real estate sites, the house prices look quite reasonable (especially when you compare to Auckland prices).
Where are you planning on going?? Are you applying for the STNI visa?? Anyway good luck
