Hi
We have used an agent called 'thinkingaustralia' and we are being dealt with by a lovely lady called Heidi. Their help has been invaluable to us. They helped us get through the skills assessment and are always there for us to call upon. It's personal choice at the end of the day, but we couldnt do it without them as it is all so confusing.

Good luck whatever you decide

Hello Donna

If you look on this forum lots of people do it themselve's and save ££££'s. Go To Department of Immigration and Citizenship there is lots of info on there about visa's and Skills Assessment. I printed it all off and gave it to hubby to read, it made more sense to him as he does it daily. Someone suggested having ago can always employ agent later if get stuck.

Good luck

Regards
Lisa

Hi Donna
My hubby is a plumbing & heating engineer too and we didn't use an agent. Its quite possible to apply yourself and as others have mentioned the forms are all on the immigration website. You'll need a Skills assessment done first to see if you can then apply for a visa but as long as you give them all the info required and you have the experience needed then it can be done. We got our visas last May & are hoping that we will be in Oz by the end of Feb. You'll also get loads of advice from the fab people on here so I would say have a look at the forms and see what you think. Basically give the authorities as much info as poss regarding your hubbys qualifications experience etc and you should be fine.
Mandy x
