Hi everyone looking for the life down under - HELP

Just wanted to say a big HELLO!, myself and my fiance are hoping to go to Australia around the end of 2009. Our route in is his occupation, South Australia Police Force are recruiting from the uk and we are hoping he will be accepted on the next intake in 2009, all fingers are crossed!!!
I've only just started researching the whole business about a month ago and it feels like the more questions i find answers too the more questions i have, my head feels like its about to explode

Its taken four hard years to get where we are now, make careers for ourselves and buying a house, and now we are about to throw it all away and start again!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! although its all a bit scary

. We are heading out to Adelaide in May this year for three weeks to do some on the ground research so any advice would be extremely welcomed!
I probarbly have all the same questions anyone looking at emigrating to Australia have but for the time being if anyone can give me any advice from your own experiences on common mistakes to avoid that would be a great help.

Hi and welcome to PIO in tammey.

I dont know anything about Adelaide apart from it has lots of churches and my brother loved it when he went to the cricket for the Ashes.

Asked other half about Adelaide (he's an ozzie from Sydney) he said the only thing he could think of about Adelaide is that it is full of gardens! ...LOL!..I hope you find that piece of info useful!

Hi Kaye, thanks for replying. We are both really into cricket so hopefully we will be out there next time the ashes are in Australia. In the mean time we will have to settle for Durham CC in the North East watching the England matches against New Zealand and Africa.

We are currently undertaking the process of emigrating and just sent off skills assessment !

We went for a wreckkie last OCT 07

please see thread for G'DAY JUST GOT BACK FROM OZ! (oct/nov 07 posting)= around number 15-16 past line entry, there is good info on there!

The whole process will start to do your head if you let it! go and do your research it is worth every penny to go out there ! because OZ may not be for you!
