WelcomeIf you are new to Poms In Oz and migrating to Australia or currently living in Australia feel free to say hi to all the other either in or moving to Oz.
Hi everyone,
This is Scott and Steph, we have just found this site and thought we would share the good news that we have just passed the tra assessment after our second attempt.:)We have never been to Oz before so not sure where to settle. We were thinking of Queensland as we both love the sun, has anybody got any advice on areas of Queensland which would be nice to live. I am a chef and Scott is a locksmithso hopefully there will be lots of job opportunities for us.
Bye for now.
Congratulations on passing your TRA's, that's the hard part done..............
Sorry can't help with the area, but i'm sure someone will be able to help you soon.
Good luck with the rest of your application.

Were thinkin of Newcastle area in NSW inbetween , Sydney and Brisbane
Hey Scott and Steph, We are just about to put in the big application, as my Hubbie got his skilled assessed and all was good!
We were thinking of going to Queensland ourselves, somewhere near to Brisbane on the sunshine/Gold coast as we have visited before and luvved it!
Then the other day we were lookin at other places which would be suitable and where they have plenty of jobs for my hubbie Marc (as he is an engineer-Fitter). We came across Newcastle in NSW and it looks lovely and it has plenty to do, lots of shops, beaches, ocean baths which are safer to swim in, cafes, restaurants, galleries museums, theatres and cinemas. Its near enough in the middle of Sydney and Brisbane so you have the option of visiting both in a short time. I have an art degree so would luv a job in the arts so hopefully would be able to get a job in something I really enjoy.
I myself am new to this forum so hopefully it will help us to distress a bit, as it is really stressfull filling in the form and researching, as we have done it without an agent, and are about to send the form off, scary!! but exciting.
We just cant wait and we are crossing our fingers we get accepted, then hopefully have aussie babies!!
