Where To Live In Adelaide

Hi again all these questions and only just joined.

Could anybody tell me where is the best place to look for houses and work in Adelaide?, i am a diesel fitter by trade that is work i want to do, the places we visited when we came over in feb 07 ,seaford, noarlunga and mclaren vale areas.Would i be better trying to get a house in adelaide or stay on the outskirts?.

Hope somebody can help me on this.

I have been to Adelaide and loved it. Why dont you take a look at Mount Barker which is supposed to be up and coming area. We took a drive there and you got quite alot for your money!!
Good luck whatever you decide

ps Craigburn Farm area nice too and not far from city.

...

It takes about 20/25 minutes from Mount Barker to Adelaide CBD. Not sure what the work in that area is like but they were building shops when we were there Jan last year.

Nice place

Hi there,

Do you have any idea what Sellicks Beach is like and how far a commute to the CBD?

Cheers

Hi
We are coming out in March (for a visit initially) and to look where to buy/rent for when we do
actually emmigrate. Noticed you have visited a few places already, can you give me some clues
as to where to look and where to avoid to save time when we arrive. Many thanks
Melanie

Hi Melanie,

McKlaren Vale is quite an expensive area but Seaford/Seaford Rise and around the Mona Beach area are up and coming, with a lot of new developments ongoing at the moment. Seaford is around 40-45 mins away from Adelaide centre but a nice area. It also has the added bonus of not been too far from Mcklaren Vale, where the wine tasting festival takes place (apparently this falls on a bank holiday so everyone can join in), I actually think that happens in March, so you'll just be in time to enjoy. We are at the last stage and just awaiting our Visa's. We will be looking to settle in the Seaford area, where we stayed last February.

Regards,
The Wife of Smudge
