Hi Paul & Hayley
Think you will find what you are describing is what most of us are searching for, and finding it is where the adventure begins!!
Everyone has own opinion the summary that I read from the posts are that :-
Adelaide - still affordable with house prices giving you abit of land still too
beautiful place have been there. Adelaide is small and welcoming. I would like to live here.
Queensland is huge area, where do you start???? Gold Coast seems to be more work and property a little cheaper than the sunshine coast (I think), Sunshine Coast beautiful but is there much work there??? Not sure really and property getting very expensive.
We are heading Brisbane!
and of course there is so many other places in Queensland
Perth - never been but alot of people on here love the place, only thing to say about Perth is, could it be a little isolated as it is out on a limb abit?? Not sure on the answer to that, once again property does look a little expensive.
Sydney - A big city with surrounding countryside, lots of people say that property is expensive so if you have the bucks then I'm sure you could be ok here.
Melbourne, met someone in the Barrier Reef (aussie) he reckons that is the best city in Australia and adores the place (he doesnt live there though). The weather has the seasons which appeals to alot of people, I would think plenty of work as quite a big place.
My eldest son loved Melbourne and that was his second choice to Brisbane.
There is so many places to choose from and each to their own and all that
Living by the coast is going to cost you, whilst living a little further inland is going to be cheaper.
Swings and roundabouts I suppose this doesnt actually help you , you have loads of reading to do before you get a gut instinct on where you would like to be , if you are going without ever visiting Australia before.
Good luck with your choice
