Hubby and i are just starting our visa application and new to all of this so any advice would be great at this early stage. I (Hannah) am 26 and my husband (Steve) is 35. Steve is looking for work as a Civil Engineer in or around Brisbane.

Hiya welcome to poms in oz,the only advice i can give you is ''hang on in there,its a stressful process!'', lots of hard work ,stress,rows and tears but by god is it worth it when you get here,,take care and i hope everything goes smoothly for you

Hi and thanks for your reply. We have found out that Steve's HNC qualification in civil engineering is not good enough to apply for a skilled visa so we are starting to go down the route of sponsorship and just waiting to hear back from agencies etc, keep checking our e-mails every 5 mins hoping someone has replied. How long did it take for you to get your visa's? Did you go down the sponsored route? any advice????

There may be hiccups along the way, but try to think of them as a test of your strength of character LOL! failing that when you are having a tough time or feel like a natter or a laugh pop on here!
