Living / renting in and around Sydney

Hi all

I'm going to be really boring and ask a question that many others have already I'm sure - where is good for me to live / rent in and around Sydney?

I have a job that is going to be in Chatswood and want to be reasonably near to this but am willing to travel. After all I've spent 21 years of my life doing so in England! I have a family.

Due to arrive in May / June probably - just in time for winter!

Hi, If you wanted to be in the surburbs of sydney it will be quite expensive to rent, you could consider living on the central coast - we do and my hubby travels to sydney 5 days a week in fact all over sydney,
liverpool - chatswood -palm beach - bondi - sansusi etc

Hard to advise you where would be good for you to live and rent as it obviously depends on several factors, ie budget, preference (ie near country or beach) and how far from place of work you don't mind being? If you give me rough idea, I'll have a think and suggest a few suburbs and you can look them up

As far as budget goes - guess $600 to $1000 per week, is probably pushing it but want to make the stay as easy as possible to start with. With children to be near to a beach would be an advantage. Having said that I would consider country as well. Decisions, decisions!!!...

Say up to an hour travel to Chatswood.

Thanks for any help you can give. I have spent many hours looking at places but there are so many (as you know) and I can't tell which are nice and which aren't so nice.
