Lee & Barb is on a distinguished road
Smile Hello to everyone...newbies here !

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on this wonderful site. We have just found you today at the beginning of a long process of investigation (magnifying glasses and pipes abound).

We are Barb & Lee, both early 30's with 2 small and beautiful children under the age of 6. We will probably be hanging around for some time, so looking forward to speaking to y'all.

Particular areas of interest for us include :
Employment - Gas fitters (Lee just qualifying with 2 years College Gas tech cert and NVQ 2 in Gas installation and maintenance)
Employer sponsored schemes
Education system for little one's
Avoiding culture shock

Happy New Year everybody.
xx

Hi Lee n Barb, and welcome to PIO.

Good luck with your long and painful process called the visa application ................. no really good luck and any questions you may have along the way just ask, and I'm sure someone will be able to answer them for you.

Hello Barb, Lee & kids! Welcome to PIO! Yes, you're right, it is a long process! The lovely peeps on this site make it so much easier though! Any queries just ask away, and someone should know the answer! It's even a great place to have a rant! I know I have in the past...when I was frustrated about the length of time my skills assessments took! Where are you hoping to head? We're off to the Gold Coast! Can't wait! I can now say that it will be THIS YEAR! (Visa application is just in mind!)
Take care!
Mags

HI EVERYONE...hope to be in Oz soon!

Hi everyone,
been looking on this sight for nearly 12 months now and got lots of useful information fron you guys! Finally got round to becoming a member now it seems to be getting closer!
We started the ball rolling last January for a skilled independent 136 visa MODL. Medicals completed in December, just waiting for our police checks to come through.
Me and my husband (Don) have 2 kids, 10 yrs son (Louis) and 18 yrs daughter (Yasmin). Our daughter is unfortunately not coming with us, she doesn't want to emigrate... at the moment, we hope she changes her mind in the future.
We are planning to head for Queensland- probably Brisbane area, not too far from the beach- so would love to hear from anyone about areas to live, schooling etc. and also to make a few pals before we arrive!
I am RGN and RN Child, currently a diabetes specialist nurse so any info about jobs would be greatly appreciated too.
Looking forward to many chats!!
Gaynor, Don and Louis.
