457 Visa - Time frame

Me and my husband are hoping to move to Sydney early next year - subject to our 457 Visa being approved.

We applied for our visas on 12/11 - medicals were approved on 5/12 - DIAC website stated 18/12 that our 'application was being processed further'.

I know I'm being impatient but we had originally been advised that we should expect to hear before Christmas and wondered if anybody could offer any tips on how long the 457 visa application takes??

Welcome to Poms in Oz. I reckon you should here anyday now. Check our timeline in my sig. Might be slightly delayed with xmas & the new year. But you should hear very soon.

The plan is to go to Sydney - my job will be in the CBD, so our plan is to find some temporary accommodation to suss out the local area before finding somewhere a bit more permanent. Neither of us have been to Oz before - so are both v. excited.

Good luck with your application...we fly out to Sydney on 19th January...We are planning to live in Camden, New South Wales while im studying...where in Sydney are you going to? Do you know yet?...Who knows...Maybe we can meet up in the future and share a B.B.Q...lol

take a look at our time line. If hadn't been for xmas and new year reckon we would be booking our flights right about now. CO on hols until 2nd Jan so hoping we will hear soon in the new year. We will be flying into Sydney aswell.

keep checking those e-mails.... we got ours today (457 visa) ...... only submitted meds early december...
