Hi there
The LCU are taking about 4-6 weeks to process some of the
PR meds at the minute, though it looks to be a bit quicker than that with the new sc 175 visa.
If you know the date that the meds were delivered to the LCU (the courier will know this) you can sometimes get help from the LCU as to progress. Please see here:
Local Clearance Unit Health Processing Centre
You can also e-mail or ring the Australian High Commissin in London to check progress. Please see here:
Visas and migration - Australian High Commission
What happens is that when the meds reach the LCU, somebody in the Mil Room stamps them with the date received on them. I think (but am not sure) that they are then stashed in piles according to which visa is being sought.
The ICSE Databas (DIAC's Pride & Joy) has o record of meds received until they are actually processed. Don't expect answers to e-mails or help on the phone util the meds have had a reasonable period in which to get on to the radar known as the database.
Having said that, a lady on here was tearing her hair out earlier this week. Eventually she could not stand the suspense any longer and rang the AHC today, asking whether their meds had been cleared yet? She was told, "Your visas were granted yesterday, Ma'am."
Cheers
Gill
