Hi everyone We are new to pio.We have just started with the process of looking to live in australia , maybe Melbourne.My husband as just received his TRA which was successful.As anyone any ideas if we need to do the meds before we send the visa application off and if anyone as any good pointers that we may need.

Which skilled visa are you thinking of applying for? If it is the subclass 175, which you apply for on-line, you would arrange the meds soon after you get the Transaction Ref Number. This should appear on the Meds forms (26EH & 160EH) which you will be able to download from your own on-line "file" as it were.
The next step is to prepare your visa application and get ready to submit that.
In the meanwhile, it is also worth ringing every Panel Doctor and x-ray clinic within a reasonable radius of home, because you will find that prices vary and so does the time that it takes to get a appointment. Please see the link below:
Agree with Gill that the on line applications seem a little quicker at the moment. Do ring around the panel drs too, we found we had to wait a week for an appointment at there were 4 of us.

Hiya and welcome to poms in oz,,the ony other advice i can give on top what Ali and Gill have said is dont leave the police checks till the last minute as they normally take the full 40 days to come through,good luck with everything

I agree don't leave the PC unless you are not in a hurry, when you get your visa you have to validate them before the PC and medicals run out, they only last for a year.

Thanks for the advice everyone. It is the subclass 175 I will be applying for, I am going to start straight away online. I will send for the police checks after christmas and start looking at the doctors for the meds.
