after a few years of listening to OH say she would go back to OZ in a heartbeat, have finally made the decision to take the plunge.
Have requested a transfer through the company I work for, and have just applied for a job in melbourne. Not sure if this is the right way round, but we both feel that one of us should have a job lined up before we look at going. OH half is a primary school teacher, anyone have any idea what the job situation is like in OZ? (may not end up in melbourne, depends where my company can find a suitable position for me)
Reading other people experience gives me confidence that we have made the right choice no matter how long it may take.
We decided to tell the parents when we know we are definitely going. This was maiinly down to the fact my sister moved to the US 18months ago, and given how upset they werre then, thought it would be better to leave it until we know for certain. They know we have been considering it for 3 of the 4 years we have been together, just not how far along we are with the decision. One of my brothers and my sister both know though, so a least i'm some way through my family
Anyway will keep reading the threads and update people as we go along
