How much does it all cost?

Hopefully once I have spoken to the migration agent we have chosen tomorrow I will have the required 120 points thanks to the ielts test. So, what would I expect to pay for an agent to sort out the emigration visa? Also does anyone have any idea what it would cost to ship 2 Golden Retrievers out to Australia?

Thanks

Iain, Rachael & Ellie.

HI, The agents fees are about the same as what everyone else says. We have to Cats to transport to Australia and the best price so far is Pet Air UK.

You might be best to email a few people and see what they say.

Good luck with it all

Hi Iain & Rachel

Agents vary enormously in what they charge for their own actual profit costs (as opposed to the fees charged by the skills assessment bodies and by DIAC, which are additional.) It is worth shopping around on price and haggling.

However, MAKE SURE that you use a Agent who quotes a fixed fee for the job, not an "estimate."

Billy & Janette (billy braveheart) have a German Shepherd, which are usually a big bigger than the average labrador/retriever. They said it cost them nearly £3,000 to have her flown from Glasgow to Perth. They used Airpets, I believe.

The cost depends on the size of the dog. There are 3 quarantine kennels in Oz - near Sydney, Melborune and Perth respectively. Therefore if you are planning to move to say QLD, you would have to add on the price of having the dogs brought to you - probably by air - once they come out of quarantine. I don't know what the quarantine kennels charge but it would be additional to whatever the pet shippers charge, plus there would be vet's bills on top.

If you pm billy braveheart, Billy & Janette can be relied on to give you all the help and advice they possibly can about this. They are a super couple.

Cheers

Gill

It depends on what level of service and which agent you use.
There are least a dozen good agents out there so shop around

But make sure you use registered migration agents

The most expensive is
The emigration group there cost will be close to £3500 for start to finish
In the visa application process.
Or a part way service of close to £1500.

I used them as I was very close to my 45 birthday and they provided a good
Level of service.

Plus visa app fee of £900
Medical & x-ray approx. £200 to 280 per person depending on were you have your medical done

Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that we are flying our two dogs over today (aaaaaarrrggghhh) - they will currently be in Bangkok. We are using Jets 4 Pets (been great), they were the most reasonable Heathrow-Sydney cost £2,800 for both. including permits/crates/ etc.

On top of that, we have to pay for quarantine at Eastern creek, Sydney, and the flight to Townsville.

Not forgetting the cost of the vets things done in the UK - blood tests, vaccinations, sealing checks, you name it.

Very expensive mutts, I can tell you !!!

Hope that helps, let me know if you want more info. Alliekate xx

What type of dogs are they as I have been told it will cost about £2800 for 1 dog but they are big as they are Golden Retrievers and I believe the cost is based on size.

We were thinking of looking at townsville too, never been though, what is it like?

Iain
