just found this site
Hi all, today i found this site its brilliant!

Me and my girlfriend are looking to move to sydney at the end of January on a working holiday visa.

Im a level 3 qualified bricklayer and been working in teaching for the last year, my girlfriend has completed her degree in criminology and criminal justice and is working in retail at the moment.

Is there any advice anyone can give us?

Welcome to Poms in Oz.

I don't know much about Working Holiday Maker visasa, but I do know that if you hope to work in a classroom evironment you are likely to be required to undergo a full-scale medical. Please see here:

Also, if you are prepared to do rural work such as fruit-picking, you would be able to get a second WHM visa.

Question jobs
Hi all again, thanks for all your replies. :)

when Lynsey and I move to Syndey, I don't want to teach anymore, I'd rather go back on the tools.

Has anyone got any info on the jobs for bricklayers in Sydney and what is the average wage?

Any suggestions on what Lynsey could work as aswel?

Hi Luke and Lynesy, A huge welcome to PIO and good luck with your application, i would like to say it is great to see someone else going to Sydney as that is where we are aiming if and when it all happens and would also like to say you wont be dissappointed as i went this July for 10 days and it was absolutely amazing and felt like home so know we will be doing the right thing when we fineally do.
