Hi People. I received a email Last Thu stating I have been successful in my application for the Royal Aussie Navy - Yehaaaa. Just got to sign the Hard copy when it gets here and the wheels will be in motion. Sydney for my training - prob our first Year - then I'll apply for Perth.

new to this site also and like you have just had our interview and my hubby has just had acceptance to join the Oz army!!
off to Brisbane in oct 08, can't wait!!

Congrats to your Family - I applied last Jan. Had a few delays due to Work. I've done my 22 years so can leave any time. I am in Glasgow at the moment doing a Driving course. Back in Plymouth Dec 2. I Got my contract emailed last Thursday. When I receive the Hard Copy I'll send it back ASAP. We had our hopes on Feb 08 but my time in the Navy finished in Jul/Aug so no real hurry yet. Next stage for us is Family Medicals. We're trying to find a cheaper place than Tavistock (£1000) (any hints would be welcome!!). Have you done your medicals yet? We are going to Sydney for my training but would like to end up in Perth.

havent got to the stage of medicals yet so cant help there sorry. just waiting for the go ahead from Oz, as we had interviews in October, to apply for visas and medicals etc. Hubby finishes in marines on oct 08 after 26 years and then we will be off to Ipswich in Brisbane which is good news for us.

David & Ady dont worry about the cost of meds as you will get all your money back once you are here, Just keep the receipt for every thing even postage as my OH joined the oz army in july this year and its a nice amount of money to get back once your here.

We had our interview last Oct and believe me time flys before you know it you will be here. We are also in Brisbane but up in Enoggera on the north side. Been here since end of July and loving it.
