Nurse Registration NSW

Hi there,
New to PiO, so I've got my 1st question?
I'm about to start the process of applying for nurse registration in NSW, any hints or tips on what's what and how long it's likely to take.

Hi there Shona,

I applied for my registration in July, downloaded the application from the internet and collected all the information it required, ie., passport, nursing qualifications, references from your current job and statements of purpose (the form is enclosed, just get two nurses off your ward to complete them), then you have to get the documents copied and certified by a solicitor and send it off with your fee, $80.00 to the ANMB (australian nursing and midwifery board) in Sydney. My registration came through in August, it can take up to 4 weeks.

Hi Jill thanks for the info, your timeline is way better than I'd heard from our NMC lot, they'd quoted up to 6 months - phew. I hope to start my contract in June 08.
O/H and I are heading to the Holsworthy area of Sydney - anyone out there live/know it?
