Hello,

Came across this site by chance and so pleased I found it. Hubby and I put in our application in August, still no news as to whether they have even received it but we are aware that there was a rise in applications before the changes in September. We are hoping to move to Melbourne. Hope to get to know a few of you along the way :)

we are new too, sent our visa application in august, have heard nothing and are considering Melbourne.

What part are you hoping to settle in?

Hello Mama Koala,

Thanks for your reply. We are not sure where in Melbourne yet, it depends on jobs I guess. I have an uncle who lives in West Footscray, we stayed there when we went over in 2005 and it was really easy to get to the city but we didn't warm to it too much. I also have a friend in Bundoora but that is further away from the city. We have decided to just wait and see if we are accepted first. We will probably stay with my uncle for a month or so until we can get jobs and then hope to find somewhere to settle.

Where are you planning on settling?

Hello All,

Thank you so much for your sweet welcome messages.

We are glad that the application process is over, we did it ourselves without and agent and it was hard work! So now we are in for the long wait.....

We saw quite a bit of Victoria when we were there 2yrs ago and loved it. Mornington was a favourite spot but we had no idea whether we would be able to find any work there, hubby works in IT and I am a counsellor/psychotherapist which doesn't seem to be in demand at all over there. Must be the chilled lifestyle!

Lesley - where is Mount Martha?

Hope to learn more about all of you too..
