We are glad that the application process is over, we did it ourselves without and agent and it was hard work! So now we are in for the long wait.....

We saw quite a bit of Victoria when we were there 2yrs ago and loved it. Mornington was a favourite spot but we had no idea whether we would be able to find any work there, hubby works in IT and I am a counsellor/psychotherapist which doesn't seem to be in demand at all over there. Must be the chilled lifestyle!

Lesley - where is Mount Martha?

Hope to learn more about all of you too..
SKW

SKW, Mount Martha is 2 min's from Mornington!!
We are renting in Mornington whilest our house is being built in Mt M.
If you have any questions on the area just PM me.
Cheers, Lesley

Hi Lesley,

Thanks for your reply. I may well pm you with any questions we may have. Just wondered how you chose Mount Martha as the area to settle in? We saw lots of nice places and don't have a clue where to start.... that is once we actually get there! We went to a few developments in Point Cook and Sanctuary Lakes, houses are beautiful, it would be a dream to have our house built but not sure that will be an option for us, at least not initally.

Bye for now. SKW

Welcome SKW!

Good choice on Melbourne. OH and I just got our acknowlegment back so probably another 6 months for a CO and then we're heading to Melbourne too! Hoping that OH will land a job (he seems to be pretty jammy with the overseas interviews, so here's hoping) fairly soon and I'll be able to get a job as an event manager - Melbourne seems to be the city that finds any excuse for a festival so it shouldn't be too hard!!

I hope to start up a PiO coffee club or something like that, if there isn't one already so look forward to seeing all PiO-Melbournites there!!

Hi There,

Thanks for the welcome Afiyafifi and Ruby.

Ruby where in Melbourne are you planning to go? A coffee club sounds great, it is a bit less daunting to know that there are other people in the same situation and that there may be suport at the other end when we get there! It still seems so far away but we are having our place valued tomorrow to put on the market. Trying to set the ball rolling a bit further....

Hi Scarlet Mia it's nice to know that there are few people thinking of Melbourne. Have you been there before? Even though we have put the application in it still feels like a distant dream as we haven't heard anything yet. How far along are you with your application?

Smile Hi

I am Penny and I am a single (widowed) mum with two boys 9 and 12 hoping to move to Melbourne (Eastern Suburbs, at least initially) in 2008. This is a great site as is so good to know you are not the only one waiting for the OK from DIMA.

Happy to chat - but like you I am fairly new to this!

Best wishes
Penny

We are hoping to move to Melbourne. Hope to get to know a few of you along the way :)

Not really sure yet, though we're planning to attend a Melbourne property seminar here in Singapore so it may well be near the city!

I found coffee clubs here a great way to meet and connect with new people so would love to pay it forward. Got to get to the darn place first though!
