Thought it was time to say hello as I have been getting advice from PIO for the last couple of months.
Me..Kelly, My husband...Luke and our daughter Emily are in the process of applying for a 457 visa. My husband was head hunted and offered a job in Sydney at the end of July and we applied immediately after that. At the moment our medicals are caught in the backlog at LCU and we think it will be another couple of weeks before they are processed...after that it shouldn't be long before our Visa is granted.I along with many of you on here am so sick of waiting!!!.....and it's getting colder here and we just want out....

Hope everything runs smoothly for you for the rest of your immigration journey! The waiting is definelty the worst part! Where in the UK are you? Im Aberdeen, rubbishy weather & very cold! So I know exactly what you mean about escaping to warmer climes!

We live in Preston at present...hate the damn place! We just have the 1 daughter....she is quite enough to handle at 13...and of course she does not want to leave at all and is playing up more than ever, but she will have to trust my better judgement!

I feel like i'm losing the plot at times....even take the laptop to bed some nights in case I get an email in the early hours...OH thinks i'm mad... all that goes on in my head is Visa or Oz related!

I have 2 boys 16 and 13 and an adopted niece whose 14!!!
My boys can't wait to go to Oz really looking forward to it. If your daughter wants to speak to my 13 year old son or to my niece (the niece lived in Oz already), then your daughter if she has msn can always pm me her msn and they can all have a chat.

Know what you mean and you will be addicted to this site next too

Can totally relate to you! I'm Oz obsessed too! Think most of the peeps on here are! Ive a 13 year old daughter too, but she can't wait to get there! My 10 year old daughter on the other hand is a bit more aprehensive. She things she'll miss her friends too much. She's coming round to the idea though. Once she's been there for a few weeks, and has made new friends she'll be fine I'm sure. You're daughter will thank you in the end, believe me!

Thanks guy's.... I'm sure she will be fine once there....she wont even say the word Australia at the moment, although I will mention to her Kim about MSN...worth a shot. OH works away all week and Emily won't talk about it...My family are pretending it's not happening...so I have nobody to talk to and get excited.......I am going slowly mad.....
