Yes, another month and my OH and I will be in Melbourne - YAY !!

He has accepted a job offer in Kilsyth and we can't wait.

One problem though - can anyone advise us of any furnished/serviced apartments/cottages/anything in that area that we can stay in until we find a rental and start the long 'camp out' until our container arrives ?

Hopefully, it won't take us too long to find a rental, but we don't want to stay in a hotel/motel for too long as it would eat up too much of our 'settling-in' budget.

If you send me a private message I'll send you the details of another poms in oz member who has a one bed bungalow unit type thing in her garden that she lets on a week by week basis (she is also based in Kilsyth). I'm sure she won't mind you emailing her for info. It may not be what you're after but we considered it for a while before my rellies offered to help us out.

We're currently in Oakleigh South but move down to Mornington in a weeks time. We've been here just 3 weeks and got loads done. If I can help in any other way just let me know.

By the way, Welcome to poms in oz. We're a friendly and helpful bunch where someone is always able to point you in the right direction for answers.

We'll also be looking for a short-term let in Melbourne, next year.

Have you looked at Australian Holiday Accommodation, All states, All regions? I have found they have a large selection in and around Melbourne.
