Hi therejo and paul.
Cheers for you,re reply.how long you been in aus,how old were your kids when you moved.how do they like it?Ours not to keen to go.are they boys or girls?
Hi Shellj
We have two boys aged 15 and 11. My 11 year old would jump on plane tomorrow. 15 year old would rather stay here but isn't putting up too much of a fuss he knows he hasn't got a choice. I do worry about him as he's quite and reserved and doesn't meet friends easily. If were lucky enough to go it will be about 12months time and Josh would of done his GCSEs but reading posts on here I don't think they mean much in Oz. So again I worry that he'll settle straight into there schooling system. KIDS
Hi all,
Me my hubby and 2 yo daughter came over last year and when we arrived,my impression was,It's like a poor mans America. On the other hand,There is a lot of great things about the place,The climate obviously, the chance to own a pool and the Aussie people i have befriended are really nice, you can go to the beach every weekend, excellent camping facilities and it's great if you like fishing, rugby league, cricket, aussie rules, gambling on slot machines(theyre in every pub for your convenience),gambling on horses and dogs(also in pubs),driving fast cars with loud exhausts,we have utes over here(Joe mangles choice of transport),barbies at the weekends. This is all the things that you can do in Oz when you get here. There are some negatives about the place also, but too many whingers have already nailed them on other posts,i think the only thing to do is try it and see how you go,you can always return to the UK.
Cheers
We are hopping to go after our 15 year old has done her GCSE,s even though they don,t mean much in aus.It would be such a waste if she didn,t do them after all the time and study.have you started the process yet if so what stage you at.My only concern is that the kids don,t like it cause if they not happy then you not happy.
regards shellj
