Hi there Scottish couple moving to Brisbane

Hi there,

I am moving to Brisbane hopefully the start of 2008. I have been sponsored by the Queensland health authority & have managed to get a job in The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital as a midwife. My partner James works in IT he is going to wait until he gets out there to find a job, which he is slightly nervous about. We dont have any children as yet but hopefully ones we get out there & settle down we can start a family. Just wondering how that works with sponsorship & maternity leave, any ideas?

Anyway it will be great to hear from anyone, please send us a line.

Not sure about the maternity leave but I do know that any children you have while in Oz automatically go onto the same visa that you are on, so if you are on a sponsorship your childs name will be added to the visa.

sorry i cant be more help but if anyone else could help i would be interested to find out, as I cant wait to have another baby.
