Sydney Rules!!!

Hi Lynne
I've been in Sydney just over a year now and can thoroughly recommend it.....but then I'm sure those in Perth would recommend that too! I guess it's just a question of where you will be better off job wise and perhaps what type of area you are used to living in England? I recently met a girl who originally came from England and moved to Perth, stayed there 18 months absolutely hated it and is now living in Sydney and loving it....she found Perth too quiet and boring but as I said we'll all different and what one likes another will hate.....sorry not to be much help but good luck with whatever decision you make.

Karen

Hi we live in East Sussex and are hoping to go to Perth eventually. My sister and dad live there. We have been there 3 times now and just love it. However I imagine all of Australia is lovely, but that is our choice.

Goodluck

Hi
Just wondering where abouts in Perth you've been to?

Hi

We have been to Perth 3 times now. We go every two years at Christmas. Would love to go more often but it takes that long to pay the credit card off. My dad lives in Kallaroo which is on the sea and is quite posh and pricey. My sister lives in Edgewater which is where we would eventually love to move to. It is quite a big area and is on the edge of a big lake. The other side of the lake is Wannaroo which is also supposed to be lovely. My Step-brother is Duncraig which we like too. To be honest we have not travelled as much as some people as we are great pool lovers and have two young boys who did not want to spend all their time in a car. Mullalloo is also nice. What I liked the most was that each suburb has its own mini-shops, schools and playgrounds.

Hope that was of some use.

Claire

We've decided!!!! (we think!)
Just want to say a very big thank you to all of you that gave us info on these two areas, it really was very useful. As this was my first posting on PIO I feel really privileged to have had so many replies!!
We gathered lots of info in the end about the Port Macquarie area of NSW and it looked possible that this was a really good area for us, but then we decided..... Rockingham/Freemantle area, Perth! So that's where we're headed! I never was very good at making my mind up!
This area of Perth seems to have loads of industry which is good for OH's job prospects and as for family lifestyle, then I think this actually would be the most suitable for us!
I've even been out today and booked 2 tickets for Perth in feb (my sister offered to have our 3 kids! Love her xxxxxx) to have a look around at schools etc and hand out some CV's.
I'm feeling a bit more settled now knowing which area we will be going to, this migration thing certainly isn't easy and we've only just started!!!

Thanks to you all

Badal

That's your first hard decision made, hope you like Perth on your visit (February is lovely so bring your sun cream)
