Hi everyone just learnt how to use this forum, at last!
I have been reading all of your post since january and have only just joined its taken me all this time to work it out. Its been fab getting imfortmation from you all makes me feel better that we are all in the same boat. We are in the last stages hopefully just waiting for a case officer which now ive heard could be 6 to 9 months. My oh is a electrician and im a hairdresser/ beauty therapist. We have two girls eleanor 7 whos not shall on going and izzy 4 who just wants a dog when she gets there. We hope to to go to brisbane (but where i dont know) so anyone out there with advice is needed and i would love to meet people from pio when we get there. I am starting to get a bit worried as it is getting nearer i cant believe how quickly it has gone, my mum wont even talk about it and makes me feel guilty when i do. My stepdad left her two years ago so timing isnt very good but paul my oh is now 43 so needed to do it now. people say i shouldnt worry as my mum gave me up when i was 6 for my stepdad and had a single life (something i will never forgive) so why do i feel so guilty. She has made my life a complete stress the last two years, just want a peaceful life. sorry if ive depressed you all but look forward to hearing from you

Hiya and welcome to poms in oz,unfortunately your going to come across friends and family who arent happy with the move ,but sometimes you have to think about yourself and your family.Your mum will probably come round before you leave,set her up with a webcam and msn before you go so she can still the kids etc ,we did this with hubbys parents.
Brisbane is a great place with sooo many nice areas ,its hard to choose where to go,good luck in your quest!!!
