WelcomeIf you are new to Poms In Oz and migrating to Australia or currently living in Australia feel free to say hi to all the other either in or moving to Oz.
Hi all, This is our first time on Poms, we are married with three girls aged 13,11 and 8, Tony is a joiner and we have gone through an agency recommended by a friend who has been in Perth for nearly three years. We recently sent our TRA forms and are waiting for a reply, what a nightmare getting references, Tony is self employed and trying to trace down employers has been quite hard. Looks like we have quite a wait on our hands going by some of the comments but i am sure it will be worth it. We are planning to go to Perth, have heard that there is plenty of work for joiners, our two younger girls are really looking forward to going but the older one is not happy, does'nt want to leave friends and family. I have had mixed feelings worrying about doing the right thing, but i am sure this is natural, quite a few people we know out in Perth love it, weather, sport, quality of life and not as much crime. Will keep everyone informed of process.

Hi
Just wanted to say welcome to PIO. Good luck with everything
Hya We are also going to Perth as my OH went out from Lancashire on a skills visa in July. We hope to be with him by Christmas as I am still trying to sell my house and sort everything out here. Both myself and my 11 yr old daughter went out last month and we loved it. I will be going out again next month on my own. Perth is vastly developing and there are new suburbs (never mind just housing developments) being built so I see plenty of work out there for a few years to come! Good Luck with your application and any questions, ask away! We are all here to support each other as we are all going through the same journey! Jo x
