Hi all just like to say big hello.
just found this site & it looks great.
We are looking into moving to oz & hoping it will be a better family & working life for us all,. but not really sure what to expect though !
what are everybodys expectations for their family & working lifes when you move out there & the ones that have already moved out there was your expections right ?

Hi and welcome to PIO.

We knew we'd have to work hard here (just like the UK) but have to say the time we spend as a family is much better, more relaxed and certainly has a better quality to it. The other thing is you don't have to spend a fortune, we spent a lovely Sunday in Kings park recently relaxing, playing cricket and footy and this weekend we went to Wireless Park - excellent views of the city, space for the kids to run around - and didn't cost us a cent. These are the things we came to Aus for!

Hi Peterpan, no one can really tell you where to live as everyone has their own view's and reasons on places they are going too, take us for example, got my mind quite firmly fixed on SA outer burb's of Adelaide but now also thinking Gold Coast, maybe, perhaps?????

You really have to research what your going to be doing for work an find out where there is a call for that sort of job, but then cos we have 3 kids, when we look at real estate we also look to see how many school's there are in the area.

To stop people asking you the same question over n over again fill in your profile as best you can, you can always change or add to it when necessary, ie job, "what do you do"??

We are heading to Melbourne, mainly there for work and climate. Hoping for a better quality of life for my family and also more outdoor activities, a rareity in this country.

Where are you in the Uk and what jobs will you be following in OZ?
