HI
Glad to hear your mum took it well, it makes life a bit easier if your family are okay abut the move.
You can take the dog but I think it needs lotsof tests/paperwork etc...I am certain someone
on the forum will be able to point you in the right direction. Our pet dog died last month aged 15 and it was an awful time to say the least but I guess in one way it was a blessing as she would have been too old to put her through the flights/quarantine and we'd have had to have left her behind which would have beenawful. The kids are desperate to get another dog which we've said they'll get once we are settled in Australia. Good luck with everything
Mandy x

involve the kids

Hi there,
when we first talked about the move 2 years ago, the kids (then 10 & 12) thought the idea was great. We involved them from the beginning even taking them to the migration agent meeting so they could be involved from the beginning. They had involvement in choosing their schools and where we lived in sydney. We've been here now 6 months and they both recently told our neighbours that they miss family and friends (obviously) but have no wish to return to england. They stay in touch with their friends in england via e.mails and MSN and the occasional telephone calls. Their friends were very envious when they first learnt of the move. GO for it and involve the kids from the start.
Carol:)

Hi
you have to do what is right for your immediate family otherwise in years to come you will be saying "if Only"
When we were first looking at moving we undertook 2 house swap to Oz (sydney and Brisbane ( great fun) and experienced lots now have secured a sponsored visa to Brisbane awaiting nursing registration from nursing council they dont rush We also also went to London to Australia expo which was very informative. re the children mine are 13,17,19 eledest staying in uk bit of a rench but good life experience for us all and am sure he will be selling cheap B&B holidays to his uni friends . The children are a little apprehensive but are up for the challenge and the beach

good luck in your decision

Sue and family
