WelcomeIf you are new to Poms In Oz and migrating to Australia or currently living in Australia feel free to say hi to all the other either in or moving to Oz.
Hi.
We are new. We found out on Monday that we had passed the Trade Board. Took 10 days as OH is a bricklayer. Now we have our medicals to contend with. Now I am worrying about these. Has anyone done their medicals yet? Would they be able to give us an idea of what we have to go through? We also have two young kids. If we do finally get in we want to go to Perth as my Dad and Sister live there. Thanks.
HIYA, MYSELF AND MY THREE CHILDREN HAVE HAD OUR MEDICALS, I WAS REALLY WORRIED AS MY 8YR OLD HAS ADHD, BUT EVERYTHING WENT FINE, ITS VERY BASIC, HEIGHT, WEIGHT,REFLEXES,EYESIGHT,LISTEN TO THE CHEST, ETC...... MY 13YR OLD HAD TO HAVE AN XRAY THE SAME AS ME, IM SURE YOU WILL ALL BE FINE, GOOD LUCK!JANE X
Wellcome to PIO, We had out medicals last week, they were a lot more basic than we expected. The hardest part was paying £640 for 2 adults 2 children not including the cost of the xrays which where £280.
Myself and my daughter where in the room for about 25 mins and OH an son for 15.
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 6 weeks ago and so had paid £15 for a 2 line letter from my GP to take with me, examining doctor did not even want to see it.
The easiest way to find out about medicals on the forum is to have a search. There are lots of different threads that could give you all the possible information you need and a bit extra thrown in for good measure.
When did you submit your visa application? Where are you from?

Hi
Thanks for your reply. Our Visa application was couriered on 22 August. We live in East Sussex. I see you are off on 12 September. Not long now. You must be so excited. Whereabouts are you going in Oz? We can't wait. Just want to get medicals out way now. My OH has had back problems in the past which goes with his job really. I had a slipped disc 10 years ago and had it operated on but, touch wood, no problems to date. We just want to go now. Next thing is to decide what to do with house as all our money is in it.
Firstly welcome to PIO, everyone here is absolutely fantastic. Well we had our medicals which were all basic apart from me, well my examination was fine and basic but i had to just provide copies from my doctor extra information as i have Crohn's Disease but the panel doctor told me there shouldnt be a problem with my visa when i get one. Hope this helps to rest your mind. Our medicals cost £450 for everything including xrays. Feel free to ask if you want to know anymore hun

Hi claire&fred,
Just wondering when you sent your TRA off, and when did it get passed? we sent ours off on the 10/8 but not heard anything yet.
We received a letter from the TRA dated 30 July confirming receipt of our application This was sent via our agency who emailed a copy of it to us on 13 August. Then our agency rang us on Monday 20th to advise we had been successful with TRA. So probably bit longer than days but quicker than we had expected. It took us months get all the forms ready and alot of nagging the OH but he eventually came through and it is thanks to all his hard work that we have got this far. Are you going through an agency? What occupation are you going in on?
Hi Lynne
Thanks for your reply. When did you decided to put your house on the market? Before or after your medicals? We are not sure what to do. It would just be our luck that house prices start to drop. Any ideas?
