Hi Trace
Just to let you know, we got a buyer for our house almost 2 wks ago after almost 4 months on market.
Agents said it has been incredibly quiet what with financial markets becoming very 'rocky', interest rate concerns etc. We took an offer much lower than we would have liked but decided best to take it and get out quick!

Hi Lyn,
We we similar to you as we sold within 12 weeks of changing our estate agent as our other was crap and said it was quiet but could get me viewers every time i rang them to say i hadnt heard from them after they kept telling me the market was quiet but all other houses up with them had sold signs up etc. We changed from them to the ones we have now about 4 months ago and after 12 weeks being up with them we sold but like yourself we had to accept a lower price than wanted but just wanted rid then no worry of having a house to sell if we got to oz.
Unfortunately cant get to oz now for a long while but at least if and when it happens we wont have to sell a house to be able to go so a great blessing. Will keep everything crossed for you Trace babes and keep us posted on how it goes hun

Hi Trace,
don't want to cause offence nor nuffin, but thave you seen that House doctor dragon, I mean woman? been off work this week so watched some daytime telly in my dressing gown 'til 12:30!
may be your house needs de personalising
get rid of the flock wallpaper and flying ducks muriel
seriously tho, she suggests looking at your home objectively, de cluttering, putting stuff in storage in nessessary and decorating or laying new flooring it could be offputting to potential buyers - nutrals are best, we have gone for neutrals as we have be redecorating over the last couple of years as we knew we would be moving, out went the bright apple green that hubby loved in favour of a nice warm creamy colour
something to think about, the market is usually dead through Aug so I have been told, keep umming and aarrhing over when to put ours on the market, will wait 'til we have a case officer I think
take care
Karen

Spoke to our agent on Monday and she says the market has definitely picked up again. Have dropped ours by 5k and its in the paper again this Friday so we'll see what the weekend brings.
I know what you mean Karen, but my house is completely decked out in cream. Its very minimal. In fact its positively bare!!!! I hate clutter and I'm a clean freak. Someone at work said that for her, my house was too minimal. You just can't win can you??
Hoping that we get some good weather at the weekend as that always helps.
Good luck everyone
Tracey x

HI TRACE, WERE IN SAME POSITION AS YOU, HAD HOUSE UP NOW FOR 6 WEEKS AN HAD NO INTEREST, GOT OUR VISA'S AND JUST WANT TO GO, WE HAVE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE IN THE HANDS OF THE ESTATE AGENTS AND MY SOLICITOR, LIKE YOU RENTING IS NOT AN OPTION FOR US AS WE NEED THE MONEY OUT OF THE HOUSE. HOPE YOU GET SOME GOOD LUCK SOON. JANE X
Hi. We're still in the same boat. We are moving agents in 2 weeks. The new agent told us it will pick up in 2-3 weeks, and around october there is panic buying to be moved before xmas. Fingers crossed!
Hi we are in the same boat as you guys we leave in 3 weeks and no firm offers, we have had to get our friends to act on our behalf when we leave, but i have also heard that things are going to pick up soon and that august is a bad moth as lots of people on there hols so everything that can be crossed is for us and everybody out there trying to sell there house. GOOD LUCK
Sharon
