hi, we're going down the same route but also had to go through a TRA skills assessment as i'm a self employed metal polisher. wife has family are who sponsoring us. our agent told us best way to go although there was a huge amount of paper work to prove my skills. let us know how it goes.

good luck lee.

Can you tell me a bit about the TRA and what certificates yo uhad to show. By the way i am a Non Destructive Testing Technician. Where abouts in Oz are you going to? we are hoping to go to WA.

We are using Your Migration in Hertfordshire - has got us this far and stopped my O/H from panicking a few times. The TRA took some time to complete as I couldn't find my certificates and being self employed things were a bit more tricky. I had to provide evidence that I had at least 6 continuous years work experience as a metal polisher - got this by getting customers, accountant and suppliers to provide statements.

We are looking to go to Brisbane as O/H has family there who are sponsoring us. Let us know how you get on - Lee

Hi jenny
We had our acknowledgment on July 31st last year and we got a CO on Dec 22nd, 5 months. Our agent had said 6-8 mths so I was quite pleased.

The CO requested meds, pc's & for our AoS to go to centrelink and she wanted it all back by Jan 19th !!

This was impossible, it was xmas and our AoS (my parents) were in the UK on hol til Jan 15th.
Also our youngest was seeing a specialist and having tests on a back problem so we didnt want to do the meds til that was sorted.

In the end the pc's were done in Jan, AoS in Feb and meds in March. Visas were granted on 27th April.

Hope that hasnt depressed you too much, be patient it will happen.

Sam xx

Hi Lee,
It's John just found out from our agent that i don't have to do a CDR or TRA as my job description has changed. Was told that i will now be assessed by a company called Vetassess, they will be looking mainly at my qualifications and training/experiance. The points system hasn't changed either, was also told that it's easier than the CDR and TRA less paperwork apparently but will have to wait and see. Hope everything is ok with you.
Hope to hear from you soon.
John & Michelle
