We are hoping that everyone out there will be able to give advice and guidence as we begin our bid to escape to OZ. My hubby is applying for a transfer to the aussie navy, he is at the stage of filling in the application, we have had great help from nev_n_angie who are off to canberra in a few weeks (as you can imagine we're not at all jealous!!), what we would like now is to hear from anyone else who has been through this, or is still going through it to get in touch and help us out any advice will be greatfully accepted

Welcome to pio and good luck with your application.. Being patience and having to wait will be your middle names for a while, but you will get there.. My hubby was in navy on the subs down Plymouth for many years and two of his friends joined oz navy and loved it.. The one friend is now in Melbourne and doing very well he has been promoted many times, the other friend called it a day after 3 yrs but is still in oz, he still works on the navy base but as a sivvy.. We visted them in Perth and fell in love with it and as they say the rest is history..

So any probs or help come on pio and somene will help or point you in the right direction.. GOOD LUCK.
