Steve and I have been on the web sites that give all the info about wot we need to do and whilst it was informative in did my head in (not hard I here my OH say).
Our friends emigrated to Perth last year and r now living the Aussie dream so we thought if they can do it so can we.
So Perth here we come!!!!!!!!!!
Now we've decided to go for it, England no longer has anything to offer us.
Do you know how lomg the whole process takes? I've heard that cos Steves job is on MODL then it will be a little quicker.

If things are straight forward for Steve it should take 4/9 mths, but i m sorry to say nothing is straight forward with oz !! My skill on modl list but it's took since Jan 06 and i have just had a c/o..

It took us 14 months from start to finish (i.e. start getting ready for skills assessment to visa being granted) and I was on the MODL. The "fast tracking" doesn't actually make much difference - maybe a few weeks at the most.

can u tell me whether we will have to do the IELTS test as i know there's gonna b changes after sept 1st.
does this apply to both of us or just steve as I'm going on his visa.

i am not sure as we have been doing application for a while we can still stick to the old rules, but the new comers ?? But i am sure someone will be along to answer that in the next hour/day or so.

Hi Rach

We have just sent off our visa application so are under the old rules but my understanding is that it will be just your OH having to do the IELTS test. We used an agent and for us, it was well worth it, but I know loads of people on this site have gone alone and been absolutely fine.
