Hello to all, we have passed TRA and now awaiting allocating of case officer, app lodged May and ack July, anybody any ideas how long b4 gettin case officer??

Hubbie passed TRA as joiner/carpenter does anybody know if there are any ozzie licences/construction cert needed before starting work(british equiv is CSCS card)
btw wondered if our TV would work in oz (samsung)

Hi we sent off visa papers on 10th July agent reckons should have case file No mid oct not holding me breath on this one

I passed as a plumber and have to spend two years at night school retraining to get my licence dont know bout carpenter put in a search for gizmo on members list her hubby is a chippy there in NSW

we have asked the same about our lcd phillips we bought at christmas if you look in your menu if it lists Oz in its list of countries the i belive there is a good chance it will work failing that contact tv manufacture

Hopefully it won't be too much longer for you now.
Can't help with licence for chippies.................my oh is a brickie and he doesn't have one.
If your tv is fairly new and has a PAL switch on it you should be fine, other wise you get the picture but no sound!!

Hello -

just to introduce ourselves - we are Caroline and Mark with 3 daughters Caitlin 6. Eleanor 4 and Lydia 2 and come from Bedfordshire. We are only at the beginning of our application journey - its taken a long time for us to finally make the decision that Oz will be a better place to raise our girls!! The prospect of leaving family and friends on the other side of the world is killing me though!! We are looking at a move to Brisbane - possibly Redlands area - heard lots of good things about it - but don't know alot about other areas yet. Any suggestions of other good suburbs in terms of schools and family orientated would be much appreciated!!
Have read lots on forum but only just plucked courage up to join 2nite!!

Tvs do work in Oz....but if it doesn't you just buy a set top box (around $50) and then it's all fine!
