Hi there all - I have been looking around this site and its been great! We are hoping to settle in Brisbane as soon as we get the heads up. Our TRA pack was sent off to Oz on the 19th July so still have a few weeks to wait for the result.... My hubby and I are soooo nervous as we are desperate to go. We have 3 kids 12 / 4 & 14mths and just want a better life for us all. Originally from Zimbabwe we long to seek a similar lifestyle. I at the moment am at home with the kids (was a bookkeeper) and my husband is an Electrician.
I welcome any advice and tips - I also wonder if there are others out there, that like me, are so obsessed about getting into Oz and dread the thought if we don't get in!

I'm sure the TRA will go smoothly - you lodged it on my birthday!! - although maybe that isn't such a good omen.

Yes, you will become obsessive about going and you will also become addicted to PIO. You will find yourself constantly trawling real estate and job sites and thinking about virtually nothing else.

Welcome to the addiction that is PIO and visa applications.

Welcome PIO, as Jean said you do become addicted, I'm supposed to be working but seem to spend more time trawling through here looking for the loads of helpful tips and advice that can be found.

OH too is an electrician too and as for obsessing, you could say that. We've already got a buyer for our house, ready to go into rented, hopefully selling our car and downsizing for a cheap run around. Car boot in a few weeks to get rid of all the rubbish we're not taking.

Are we scared we don't get in - too right. Really don't know what we'll do but trying to be positive and like you desperate for a better quality life.

Welcome to PIO Its a great site, Oz is desperate for trades people so dont worry about getting TRA Passed you will be fine, easier said than done though i remember wating around for ours, you wont settle until you have the nod though, well good luck take care love carol xx

welcome to PIO as they all say its a great site,but once you start you cant stop i am in the middle of cleaning my kitchen cupboards but keep coming on here,we leave in 4 weeks so i must get on.
