hi wanting to move to brissy

Hi

Im Michelle and I currently live in Blackpool. My OH is a floorlayer/ commercial vinyl installer and we are thinking about coming to Brisbane.
We have submitted our visa 136 MODL last month and are just playing the waiting game like everyone else!!

My two girls ages 12 & 15 are both into horses and spend every day they can when not at school down the stables. My husband wants to get into motorcross and I just want a quite life!!Lol
Does anyone know if there is work for OH and what area I would be best looking at to enable all to do the things they enjoy.

Cheers

Michelle

Welcome to PIO

Had a beer in the Squirrel at Bispham a few months ago; we were staying with family at Cleveleys.

Went to see a few games at bloomfield road while we were there.

Can't help you either re floor layers.............. I'm sure someone will be along shortly who can advise?

good luck

Hiya welcome to poms in Oz we are 40min south of brisbane cbd behind the gold coast hinterland. We bought here as its horsey heaven with at least 3 pony clubs within 10min of our house and after 8 yrs without im determined to buy another now the kids are older. My son and hubby have moto-x bikes and are going to check out a new track this weekend ,lots of people around here have bikes, most ride on their own property (lots of acerage around here)or drive to tracks.I spoke with the local carpet company last week regarding a guy who arrives next year and they seemed really interested as he said''good lads are hard to come buy'' ,have you tried contacting any companys via the yellow/white pages? feel free to pm me for any info ,,

Hinterland

As all Aust cities are modern sprawling suburbs once you hit 'the outer edges' thats it - no farmland until you get out into the regional areas. Its not like UK where the suburbs end you overlook rolling green fields, farmland, sheep etc. Hinterland further out but if they're into horses thats really only option with BNE. You'll def get your piece n quiet there

With work I'd suggest doing google search for QLD or BNE house/land package building companies - prob list employment on their own websites????

also google something like.......local papers for Brisbane - find the name of the daily rag then hit the employment pages????

once visas sorted etc you could always register on seek.com.au or something for work wanted??

maybe also google (sorry but its such a good tool) the suburbs/region your interested in moving too.....ie carpet fitters of .............. oh hang on try yellow.com.au - Keyword Search

good luck

Hi and welcome to PIO from a past neighbour (we lived in Preston). My daughter likes horse riding too and we found a stables for her very easily and she loves it. Her lessons are $40 for an hour and are done in terms (like school). We're in WA
