Hiya and welcome to Poms !!Where to live in Australia normally boils down to personal prefernce and work availability.I can say Brisbane is the best and Ali from Perth will say Perth, and someone in adelaide will say Adelaide,it really depends on what you want.Have a look at Real Estate, Property, Land and Homes for Sale, lease and rent - realestate.com.au ,as this may narrow down areas for you due to property prices. When applying for a visa there are goverment websites you can look at for info and to point you in the right direction ,or you can enrol an agent to help.Again personal preference,we used Visa Bureau as our agent but many guys on here did it alone.Depending on your proffesion and age will, to an extent depend which visa you can get, some visa's even dictate which area you must move too.Cant find the link for the Oz Gov website but im sure someone will help out shortly, good luck with your decisions ,its a tough choice,,

Hi and welcome,

Someone asked the same question recently and got lots of different answers 'cos we all liked somewhere different for different reasons. I'd suggest doing a search of old threads and see what you come up with - you'll probably have loads more questions afterwards.

Hi pkcoo

There are large Chinese communities in every major city in Australia. I went into Gogle Australia a minute ago, told it to find Chinese Community in Australia and told it to search Australian webpages only. A whole page of links came up. Please click on the link below and hopefully it will take you straight to the page:

Chinese Community in Australia - Google Search

The link below is to the Malaysian Chinese Community in Australia:

Malaysia Chinese Association Club Australia Inc

My mother and sister live South of the River in Perth. Their family GP is a Malaysian Chinese who emigrated to Australia a about 30 years ago, I think. He comes from Ipoh in Perak where we lived throughout my childhood. I know that at least one of Dr Oi's children now lives in Melbourne.

I wasn't able to find any links for a specifically Singaporean Chinese community association but I'll bet there is one if you search Google Australia hard enough.

Cheers

Gill
