Hi Guys / Girls

Hi guys /girls

I have two girls called Sophie and Chloe who are looking forward to living in Perth WA, but they are a little worried that they will not be able to meet any friends there age's are 8 and 10.

They keep asking me if there will be any other kids around there age living in perth.
It would be good to here if there are any other kids feelng the same way as my girls.

We have been to perth twice and we all love it.

Please pm, if you would like to make contact.

Cheers

Ali

Hi,

My children are 7 and 12 and we moved to Perth in January this year. Alex my eldest was 10 when we first talking about moving (11 when we moved), she was a bit tearful, didn't want to move or 'leave her whole life behind'. We told her what we were doing at each stage, didn't ram it down her throat but answered her questions. One turning point came when I said that I was a bit scared as it meant starting a new job, having to make friends etc., in fact all the things she was feeling. After that she spoke in a more positive way, she finished primary school in UK which was important to her and the experience of leaving something behind (in this case school and friends) was really helpful to her. The school here were great and got her a pen pal who she could correspond with prior to arriving and they did via email and msn so when we arrived she felt as if she knew people even though she'd never met them (she'd been introduced to other class mates via msn).

They've both settled really well, made lots of friends and love their life here. Alex would be happy to answer any questions the girls have - year 7 here is last year of primary school. PM me and I'll pass on your email address if you like.

Ali
